Welcome to SciencePo ULB, a world-class department.
Choosing political science at ULB means:

  • Studying political science in Brussels, the capital of Europe and the city with the second most international institutions in the world.

  • Gaining access to potential careers in national, European, international, regional, and local institutions, alongside players in political, social, and economic spheres, in associations, in journalism, in the private sector (consulting, public relations), in teaching, or even in research.

  • Having the opportunity to complete work placements and go to one of our 120 partner universities in 39 different countries in Europe and across the world (Canada, China, Brazil, US, Japan) for 6 months or an entire year, or enrol in a double degree programme with LUISS in Rome.

  • Choosing excellence in research in an internationally renowned department. For the seventh year in a row, SciencePo has been ranked in the world’s top 100 political science universities. We are the top University in French-speaking Belgium, and in the top 5 French-speaking Political Science Universities (QS World University Ranking by Subject 2019).

  • Being immersed in an international environment: between our teaching staff, assistants, and researchers, we have twelve different nationalities. Nearly half of our students come from a country other than Belgium. And our programmes will enable you to take courses in French, English, or Dutch, as well as some courses in German and Spanish.

  • Attending one of the 150 courses in our programmes, which combine political science courses with many courses in other disciplines in human sciences (law, economics, history, sociology, psychology, statistics). The recent results of an ULB opinion survey assessing our courses were very encouraging, given that 84% of courses received very positive reviews from the students in our Department. These courses will allow you to acquire knowledge that will help you better understand the world of today, and skills that will enable you to contribute to improving our societies and take part in democratic debate.
